It All Begins
It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to launch a business. Maybe you want to turn a hobby into something more. Or maybe you have a creative project to share with the world. Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.
Don’t worry about sounding professional. Sound like you. There are over 1.5 billion websites out there, but your story is what’s going to separate this one from the rest. If you read the words back and don’t hear your own voice in your head, that’s a good sign you still have more work to do.
Be clear, be confident and don’t overthink it. The beauty of your story is that it’s going to continue to evolve and your site can evolve with it. Your goal should be to make it feel right for right now. Later will take care of itself. It always does.
Early on in my life I discovered the need to know what I was going to do with my future self. The type of life I wanted to live and what I wanted to do for a living. While societies push you to figure out what you want to do begins at a very young age and does help make you consider your possibilities; it’t not necessarily the right push. Now that I am well into my mid 30’s I realize that life’s career path can be ever changing. I love change, challenge and goals. So when I found myself as a stay-at-home mom shortly after receiving my Bachelors in Social Work, I experienced one of the biggest adjustment phases in my life. I always said “I am not the stay-at-home mom type and I like to make my own money.” Fast forward to 6 years of raising our kids at home; I now do not want to go back to the 9-5 hustle of life’s clock in schedule.
So here I am creating my own small business. Learning the ins and outs of marketing and living my Boss Mom Era. My point is this; do what scares the hell out of you. Take risks. Set goals. Like Davee Jones said, “You’ll never know until you try.”
